Board of Trustees – follow up notice to the community

On 28 February we outlined that the board had two vacancies following resignations – Parent Trustee and Co-opted Whānau Representative.

Board of Trustees – Notice to Community

Following the notification period, the candidate we select to fill the vacant Parent Trustee position is Matthew Parrett.

We choose Matthew because:
– He was on the past board so has historic Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery board knowledge which is beneficial to this relatively new board.
– He has good questioning skills as demonstrated during his previous tenure on the board, another skill that will complement this board.
– He expressed interest in being on this board, through standing at the last general election; he earned the next highest number of votes so was the next favoured parent representative behind those that came to sit on the board.

Matt’s questioning skills and historic knowledge go some way towards filling the gap created in Bee’s departure.

We will update you in the future when the Co-opted Whānau Representative vacancy has been filled.
