Community Outing Thursday September 28th 9-3pm

We are planning a community outing day next Thursday 28th September, as a celebration of term 3. The outing will take us into town to Hagley Park and the cultural precinct in the morning; a bbq at Margaret Mahy Playground for lunch and to the Indoor Sports and 10-Pin bowling in the afternoon. The cost for the day is $10 per person, and can be paid to the office from next week onward. Parents are welcome to attend for the whole or part of the day. Permission slips will be sent home next week. Please indicate your interest on the forms.

This week we are asking students to do E-Asttle reading tests. An E-Asttle reading test is an online test which presents students with several short readings followed by questions. The questions are a combination of multi-choice and short answers.
These tests are to provide us with data to help with placement in courses for 2018. They are also to provide us with an overview of where our school literacy levels are, which will help us plan ahead for 2018 and beyond. I understand that not everyone enjoys tests but we will ask students to attempt the test and will be on hand to help them with queries on the day.
SUMMER CAMP DEC 6-8th Glenroy Lodge

This week we are seeking expressions of interest from students interested in attending a summer camp. The camp will be co-led by student peer mentors who will be training to act in the role of peer mentors for 2018. There will be more information coming home next week.

For the entirety of September Nico Wildbore is leading a team of LAs to raise $1000 towards Cerebral Palsy research. To reach this, we have each pledged to do 10 000 steps a day.
