We have a whole school COL coming up on Friday 29th June. We will have some students present their projects and some will display them. Please try and come along as it is a great opportunity to meet other parents and see what is happening around the place.

If any students want to sit the Australian Maths Competition please contact Ino as soon as possible.  We would need to enter before 6 July.

The exam is 30 multiple choice questions and most people with reasonable Maths skills would be able to tackle the first 10 at least.

Ski Trip

Next term the school is running a weekly ski trip to Mount Hutt. These will be most Wednesdays and will cost $80 per student. Zack and myself will be the supporting LA’s. Sign up is at the unlimited office and requires a permission slip to be completed by parents.

Later in the term we will be using one of the Wednesdays for our community. We will be trying to take as many students as possible from our community up for the day. Last year this was hugely successful and many students went skiing or boarding for their very first time. We managed to get almost everyone independently using the chair lifts and coming down. It was a fabulous day. As a community we are trying to fundraise a little to reduce the costs for this particular trip and we do have financial assistance available by request to Jill. We will let you know more details in the IEM’s but would love you to encourage students to step outside their comfort zones and take on this challenge.

Kia ora,

The Christchurch Youth Council are very excited to announce that we are currently recruiting for General Member applications to join the team! We will be recruiting from now until the 27th June.

We would be very grateful if you were able to share this opportunity with your young people and also able to distribute our poster throughout your schools and community spaces. We have physical copies available to send out to anyone, please contact us.

We want any 12- 24 year olds who are passionate to make Ōtautahi an awesome place for young people. This recruitment we are specifically interested in young people that are keen to help to plan an event in their community. We have an upcoming series of event’s that allows people to pitch ideas for something in their community and have a pot of cash up for grabs at each event. If this interests your young people we would love to have you on board!

Check out our website for more information about what we do, who we are looking for, and what might be involved, and how to apply!
