Well here we are at the end of another amazing Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery year. We have had an action packed year with camps, sleepovers, trips, CBD discovery, athletics, swimming, shows…the list goes on.
Parents/caregivers: A HUGE thank you to all the parents/caregivers who have supported us throughout the year. We cannot be the school we claim to be without you. You enable us to provide a rich learning environment for students, unparalleled in my opinion.
LAs: I am the luckiest of Community Leaders! The team I have worked alongside this year has been an exceptional set of educators – I’m sure you will all agree. Hours of work, heaps of passion for their craft and oodles of love for the children.
At the end of this year we “gift” Libby to the 4-6 Community. Since being at Ao Tawhiti Libby has been in the junior community. Libby has worked tirelessly to extend children in areas they are passionate about and has continued to further her own education as well. The 4-6 community are gaining an awesome LA – we will miss her. Just as well she’s just through the wall.
We bid au revoir to Jean at the end of this week as he moves to Burnside Primary with La Découverte. In a very short year we have come to know and love Jean – his sense of humour, dedication to the teaching profession and his collegiality. Jean – you will be greatly missed! Best wishes to you, the children and families on the next stage of your learning journey.
Learning support: Otherwise known as Angels! Claire, Zoe, Sally and Lucas – what would we do without you?! For every little thing you have done this year to make our lives that little bit easier – thank you. For the care of the children and the help with their learning – thank you. For your flexibility daily – thank you!
Niki: Well wasn’t that a good decision we made just over a year ago! Thank you for your unfailing enthusiasm, your fantastic ideas, your knowledge, your ear – well just for being you!
Finally – to the tamariki. Thank you for the joy and challenge you bring. Thank you that every day has something new in it. Thank you that we can NEVER be bored. Thank you for hugs. Thank you for the ways you strive in your learning. You make it all worthwhile and the best job in the world.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
