It is with more than a little regret that I have to announce the resignation of our founding Director, Steven Mustor. His resignation takes effect at the end of 2020.
Steven began in the role of Director in November 2013. His initial brief was to establish Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery by merging Discovery 1 and Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti … all in 6 weeks. Over the last 6 and a half years Steven has worked tirelessly to reestablish our Special Character school in the CBD. We are proud of the leadership that Steven has provided throughout his time as our Director. His commitment to establishing strategy, processes and systems that allow our students, staff and parents to live out our special character is evident in every part of our school.
Steven’s integrity and kindness are evident in his decision making. He has not yet decided what he will do next, but is committed to ensuring that we have time to find the best person to lead Ao Tawhiti in the next phase of our journey.
On behalf of the Board, I wish to express our sincere appreciation to Steven for his contribution to Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery and wish him every success for whatever he chooses to do next.
The Board will now commence the process of recruiting and appointing a new Director. We expect to have our new Director in place for the start of the 2021 school year. We will provide further information regarding the appointment process in the coming weeks.
