Kia Ora everyone,
Apologies for this not coming out sooner. Things get quite busy for me in term one both at work and outside of it. However, I’ve had a couple of students giving me daily reminders to get the results completed so that has definitely helped!…
OLYMPICS DAY RESULTS
Thank you to all those who participated in some way in this years Olympics Day!
The day was a great success with a large involvement from both staff and students. So far I’ve heard good things about the day, so thank you for helping make it possible.
Here are some results for the day…

Homebase Top 3: calculated by 1 point per student per event, 4 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd and 2 points for 3rd per event:
· 1st – Natalie W
· 2nd – Kate A
· 3rd – Sarah A
From our athletics day a number of Ao Tawhiti students qualified to represent the school at the Canterbury School Sports Athletics Championships. The students that participate were:
· Jack Fensom – Long jump
· Oscar Obel-Hall – Javelin, Discus
· Liam Murray – 400m
· Frewen Watts – Javelin
· Sullivan McDonald – Discus
· Imke – 100m, high jump, discus
All students represented the school in a positive manner and it was great to see them being involved in such a great event.
Oscar won the javelin by almost 2 metres and Imke placed in her 100m heats. This means that both students have qualified for the finals on Saturday.
If you also have any suggestions or ideas of how next year’s Olympics Day could be improved please feel free to send them through! I’m all ears =)
Thank you again for all your help and support in making events like these possible.
