For those members of our yrs 11-13 community in Louise’s, Duncan, Steven’s, Florian’s (who is covering for our new HBLA) and Richard’s (Mc) homebases: Immediately following our mihi whakatau at the Jack Mann Auditorium (starting at 9:00) we will be meeting in P11 for a morning tea. A short introduction to the year will be followed by a chance to meet friends and LAs, share some food and socialize.
At 11:00 we will be taking chartered buses into town to AMF Bowling on Iverson Terrace. The school is covering costs for one game but students will need to wear non-scuffing (non-black soled) shoes or hire shoes at the centre.
At 12:45 our buses will pick us up and deliver us to Margaret Mahy Playground for lunch. Students will need to bring a packed lunch and appropriate weather gear (in the event of rain, we will return to the Dovedale campus). The day will finish at the Margaret Mahy Playground at 2:30 with students making their own way home (a group will be walking together to the bus exchange).
We look forward to starting the year with a very casual and social event. As with all of our community days, the main objective is to build our sense of togetherness, to strengthen friendships and spend the day together having fun.
A reminder that Thursday and Friday are set aside for IEMs with classes starting on Tuesday following Waitangi weekend.
