Atā whakatapoko – Our Kura

We are a designated character school established under Section 156 of the Education Act 1989. The students eligible for enrolment are those whose parents accept the designated character of the school as set out in the New Zealand Education Gazette notice of 4 April 2013. We have an Enrolment Scheme.

As we have more interest than spaces available, we must ballot our home zone at every year level. This includes siblings of current students who must also follow our enrolment process. Because we are a special character school, balloting the home zone differs from a regular school where students who live in the home zone are automatically enrolled. Wait lists are not carried over to the next year. We start a new enrolment process every year.

Te hāpete o mua – Enrolment process

There are two steps to complete before you can participate in our ballot.

1. Rēhita – Register your interest and attend a tour (essential)

You must register your interest so we can contact you during pre-enrolment. You must also attend a tour to view our school and how we operate. Our Senior Leadership Team hosts the tours, and there is the opportunity for questions as part of this process. Tours will open in May 2024 for the 2025 enrolment process. Due to the enormous demand, we cannot offer tours or visits outside our scheduled dates. The form to register your interest will be available when we close the form to book a tour. Please either book a tour for the 2025 enrolment or return in June to register your interest for a future year.

2. Te Kōwhiri – Pre-enrolment and ballot information

Once you have attended a tour and want to progress with your enrolment, you must complete our Pre-Enrolment information step. When we start a pre-enrolment process, all whānau who have attended a tour will be emailed a link for an educator and a caregiver to fill in. We commonly ring and/or ask you to meet with us to discuss the references.
