2. Community Leader Y7-10

We are a special character state school where students are central in directing their own learning. We are looking for an exceptional community leader (Y7–10) who can think beyond the framework of conventional teaching and learning.

As a community leader you are responsible for the learning relationships that homebase learning advisors create with their Y7-10 students.  We want innovative, creative, organised and inspiring teachers working with our students every day. As a Community Leader you’ll be given the space to develop programmes that reflect the needs of the students and staff that you work with.  If you are a leader or aspiring leader with a proven record of ensuring that every moment a student has at school provides several opportunities for her or him to follow their passions and to develop new interests, we strongly encourage you to apply.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and promote an environment where all students are able to direct their own learning.
  • Ensure that schoolwide systems are implemented for 80-100 students and the Learning Advisors who work with them.
  • Support learning advisors through a collaborative leadership approach
  • Promote and develop community by ensuring that parents and the wider community are actively involved
  • Work with Senior Leadership to implement the strategic vision of the school
  • Work with a Y7-10 homebase of 14 students
  • Teach either English and/or Maths to Y7-8 students

The position begins in term 2, 2018.
