Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery proudly presents our 2021 Junior Productions. This year we have three short shows.
Due to the recent government mandated changes in the Covid Management moving to the Traffic Light System which set the South Island as Orange, we have been forced to change the performance venue and dates for the Junior Productions. We were originally performing at Papa Hou Theatre; we can’t fault the YMCA for trying very hard to make this work for us, however the rules about vaccination certificates mean a number of cast and creatives would not be able to be in the show and several of our parents would also not be able to come see the show.
Our solution is to bring the shows back to being onsite here at Ao Tawhiti. The shows are now only in the evenings, with no matinees, and we will be performing each show only once over three separate evenings to allow for social distancing. We are not able to host a gala performance evening with all three plays back-to-back.
The shows are:
The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon by Don Zolidis. Directed by Frankie McGarry-Burford and Georgia Wallace
PERFORMS Wed Dec 8 at 6:30pm
Velveteen Rabbit. Adapted for the stage by Janet Allard from the Book by Margaret Williams. Directed by Danny Smetanina.
PERFORMS Thursday Dec 9 at 6pm (only show with an early start)
Forests of the Night. by Del Martin. Directed by Grace Opie and Nic Chappell.
PERFORMS Saturday Dec 11 at 6:30pm
All shows are at Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery School.
