Kia ora whanau,
It has been wonderful seeing the number of parents in supporting the learning across our floor. We’ve had parents running workshops, setting up play provocations, helping on trips, working alongside staff in HBs and sharpening pencils! Thank you for every way you contribute to make our kura a special place.
Timetable Week 5: Timetable Week 5 Term 1
Athletics Day Reminder: This Thursday! Please arrange for your child to be dropped off by 9am and picked up by 2.30pm – Nga Puna Wai, Aidanfield. Children on Floor Four should wear green.
Swimming Sports: We will be having our swimming sports on Thursday 5th March at Waltham Pool 11am-2.30pm. We are in the process of organising buses to transport the children to and from school. Dean is working on our timetable of events.
This week’s out and abouts:
HB Piwakawaka (Suze/Nadine) please follow this link. HB Piwakawaka 28th Feb
HB Pukeko (Gina/Mel) we hope to go to Turanga for the afternoon (11.30am-2.30pm). Please email Gina or Mel if you can come along to support.
HB Pouakai (Kate/Sarah F) same arrangements as last week. See this message from Kate – Reflections on week 4
Floor Four Parent Meeting: On Monday the 2nd of March we will be running our floor parent meeting beginning at 3.15pm. The children are of course welcome to use the floor – please help them clean up when you leave. The meeting will focus on what is happening on the floor this term and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. At the end of the meeting we will be running an EOTC and LMS training session for those who need to complete this. EOTC training – you need to have attended one of these in order to transport children in your car or organise trips without an LA. An extra session covering these two training sessions is being held on Tuesday 10th March at 7pm to catch our full time working folk.
CAMP: 6th – 8th April
Below you will find a link to the general information – Please read this very carefully – there are several forms which need to be filled out. Links to these are found in the general information document. Camp organisation is a massive undertaking – please support us by doing your part by completing these forms by the dates requested.
Book Bags/Reading Folders
If your child is reading books on the colour wheel (Magenta to Gold) you can expect to get reading books coming home for you to practice at least twice a week, generally on a Tuesday and a Thursday.
Parent Help for Duties
We still have a lot of gaps to fill in, please add your names to the Doc below. If we do not have enough help it will mean that sometimes we cannot go down to Matai Common at lunch and the gym will not be able to be used by students before school.
Looking forward to a fantastic week ahead!
Nadine, Mel, Beth, Bonnie and Dean.
