Parent Led Workshops – Level 4

As you’re hopefully aware, on Friday mornings during Term 3, we have been inviting parents from across the school to come up to Level 4 and offer some workshops for our students.

We have been really lucky to have a great group of parents offer workshops on…

  • Sewing
  • Innovation and business
  • Hair Braiding
  • Cooking
  • Art School
  • Proof reading
  • Papier Mache
  • Plains FM visit and recording
  • Songwriting
  • Art Gallery visit
  • Barista skills
  • Football Skills
  • Army Style Fitness
  • Garden Centre visit

All of these opportunities add to the amazing learning journeys of our students. We really appreciate the time and energy that was committed to making these experiences happen and want to say a massive thanks on behalf of all the students and staff. For many of our students they have really loved what has been on offer on Friday mornings and for a lot of them it has created another area of interest for them to pursue across the rest of the week.

We know that sometimes it’s hard to come up with ideas to offer.

So with that in mind we asked the students if there was anything that they would love to see available in Term 4…

They came up with…

  • Projects at the Climate Action Campus
  • Nature play at the Climate Action Campus
  • Ceramics
  • Skate park visit
  • Cooking competition – MasterChef
  • Any kind of sport
  • Random trips out…could be in the CBD, could be wider
  • Margaret Mahy
  • Dodgeball
  • Dungeons and Dragons
  • Photography
  • Coding
  • Barista Skills
  • Using Social Media for advertising

So, if you thought that you had a great idea for something to offer we’d love you to sign up. Some of this term’s workshops have been for a one hour session, a 2 hour session for 4 weeks, a 2 hour session each week for the whole term. It’s totally up to you and we really appreciate anything that you can offer.

We’ll stick with Fridays, 9-11am, for Term 4. However if this didn’t work for you, we can always look at other times. Homebase 9-10, Monday-Thursday, works well too.

I have added the link below to the document where you can add your workshop, it has all the weeks for Term 4 in it so if you want to throw something in in Week 5, for example, you can do that now.
