Several parents have recently raised concerns about students being dropped off/ picked up on St Asaph St. While it is a 30kph zone, occasions of ‘near misses’ are on the increase.
Part of our Trust License training requires students who hold a Trust License to cross all roads at pedestrian crossings when they are green for walking. While not all students yet hold a Trust License, this is really good practice to instil in all of our tamariki and rangatahi. A few seconds saved by running across St Asaph St into traffic is not worth the possible awful consequences.
Please take your time with drop offs and pick ups. Reassure your taonga that there is no rush; school is going nowhere, you and the car are going nowhere. The safety of all is paramount.
