I’ve been at Ao Tawhiti since 2021, starting in year 7 in Beth Manders HB. There I watched a few videos about Adobe Illustrator and learnt about what the program was. I’ve always been into art, so this year my teachers suggested me and my friend Daisy start this assessment called 2.4 there you complete two panels filled with art and plans but we first started with the 2.3 assignment approach to design briefs, which we finished earlier last month. We are planning to move on to the larger part of the assessment 2.4 next year. Me and Daisy chose to base the whole assessment on a video game called The Last of Us, but we created our own story within that world. For the assessment, we chose to design logos for the cover of our graphic novel that we will hopefully finish one day.
My teachers helped me to understand and how to use Adobe Illustrator more, although I did struggle with it at times, it was a really good learning experience and I enjoyed planning and designing my logos, starting at eight designs then being given feedback by myself and others and narrowing it down to one final design, having HB time was so great and it helped to have other colour blocks to work on it as well. I’m very proud of my final outcome. While it did take quite a bit of time, I think it was well worth it.
