I started at Ao Tawhiti back in 2015 as a Year 0, and have loved the special character of the school. Being able to choose my own learning pathway and subjects, and the trust focused model provided by the school is great. It has been incredibly helpful being able to make my own timetable, and I have been utilising everything the school offers to help with my projects. As a Year 10, I have been able to work towards NCEA Level 2, getting credits across a wide range of subjects. A highlight is everything I made from my interest in Lord of The Rings, where I was able to do lots of English and Media Studies assessments, and completed an entire Design folio around this interest. The school has provided me with a lot of support and guidance, as well as free time to work on these projects, and lots of resources that enabled me to make and do all these different cool things. I’m looking forward to my next three years here, and am so grateful this is the school I get to attend.
