It depends. Each year we find that we have slightly different demands at each year level. In general we ballot at all year levels. There is usually more demand at Y1-6.
Ao Tawhiti is a state school. There is no cost to attend.

A JP draws names. The ballot is a formal process designed to ensure that we are seen to be fair to all those who enter the ballot.
Ao Tawhiti’s zone encompasses Christchurch city. If you live outside of Christchurch you can still enrol, but you will be balloted after the students within the zone.
